In his debut with the Houston Rockets, NBA player Dillon Brooks was ejected less than five minutes into the game for punching an opponent, Daniel Theis, below the belt during a preseason match against the Indiana Pacers. Brooks received a flagrant 2 foul, leading to an automatic ejection.
He calmly accepted the decision, mentioning it might be due to his reputation as a player often involved in such incidents. Brooks humorously referred to himself as "Dillon the Villain" when asked about being targeted on the court. "I tried to navigate a screen, I might have tapped him below the waist. But you know he got right back up," Brooks said. "I don't know, it's weird that every time it happens to me it I get picked on. But I guess it's just a part of the reputation."
When asked if there's a target on his back, Brooks replied, "I don't know. What's the name? What's my name? The name is Dillon the Villain, so I guess."
