Yung Miami's "Caresha Please" beat out some of the biggest hip-hop podcasts for the "Best Hip-Hop Platform" award at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards. The other nominees include AllHipHop, Drink Champs, Hip Hop DX, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Rap Caviar, The Breakfast Club, and XXL.
Following the awards show, N.O.R.E. took to X to share his thoughts on the situation, writing, "So nobody gonna say nothing bout the podcast /media award? Ok me neither !!!"
This comes after "Drink Champs" and "Caresha Please" tied for the award last year. During his speech, N.O.R.E. told the crowd, "I’ll keep it 100. I haven’t been to an award show since [Big]Pun been alive. Me and Pun sat at these seats somewhere over there,” pointing out to the audience.
"And Silkk da Shocka beat us in every category there was. I promise to never come to another award show again because I didn’t want to be embarrassed because hood n****s get embarrassed too, y’all."
N.O.R.E. went on to speak about Fat Joe telling him to show up to " accept this award on every hood n**** that cut school and was in the resource room. I had two teachers and five students. I was in special education,” he bravely admitted. “I never learned language. I’m not sure I know how to read, but I’m here."
