Fat Joe recently sat down for an episode of BET’s Diggin’ in the Crates, where he spoke about 50 Cent's debut album, "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'". Despit their legendary beef, Fat Joe stated that it didn't take long for him to recognize that this was truly one of the greatest albums of all time.
During the conversation, Fat Joe spoke about his personal issues with 50 Cent, which made it difficult for him to even listen to Fif's music. He even revealed that he made a conscious effort to prevent DJs from playing his songs, but added that deep down, he knew that there was something special about 50 Cent.
In recent times, notable artists like J. Cole and Nas have come forward to praise this album. J. Cole even declared it as the greatest album of all time, and Nas claimed that this album changed the game. The combination of 50 Cent's flows, catchy melodies, and hard-hitting beats brought a new energy to hip-hop that hadn't been felt before.
Crucially, 50 Cent teamed up with Dr. Dre and Eminem, two masters of their craft, to elevate his music even further. Fat Joe stated that although 50 Cent's talent would have shone through regardless, it was Dr. Dre who brought those New York beats to life and added that extra touch of professionalism.
