--------

In this clip, John "Boxer" Mendoza detailed his authoritative rule over the facility. He explained that despite being arrested and held in the county jail, he maintained control of the streets of Santa Clara, San Jose. Even when brought into detention in a high-drama event involving numerous Department of Justice agents, he remained a powerful force within the jail system. It was explained that, due to his substantial influence over the gang, he was put under observation to keep him isolated from the rest of the group. Meanwhile, he continued to exercise control over others, enforcing discipline within the gang by issuing orders for beatings or worse for members falling afoul of the gang's code. In the event that orders were not obeyed, severe consequences, including stabbing, were enforced. Such violent measures were considered normal operations within the gang, meant to send a message to others about the severe consequences of violating the group's laws.
