Hornets forward Miles Bridges turned himself in to authorities after allegedly violating a domestic violence protection order, leading to charges including domestic violence protection order violation, misdemeanor child abuse, and injury to personal property. Bridges previously pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge in November 2022.
As part of his plea deal, he was sentenced to three years of probation, required to attend counseling and parenting classes, and serve community service. A criminal summons was issued for Bridges for violating the protective order and damaging his ex-girlfriend's car. He was suspended for 30 games by the NBA in April for the previous domestic violence incident. The NBA and the Hornets are investigating the recent charges.

Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges is facing an arrest warrant and a criminal summons for allegedly violating a protective order involving his longtime girlfriend. The incident, dating back to January, involved Bridges smashing her windshield at her residence. Bridges had previously pleaded no contest to a felony charge of injuring a child's parent in November 2022, resulting in a 10-year criminal protective order.
He was also sentenced to three years of probation and mandatory drug testing. Despite signing a one-year, $7.9 million qualifying offer with the Hornets, Bridges apologized for the charge's impact on his family and others.
