During an interview with 'Art of Dialogue,' Mopreme Shakur recently revealed that Tupac and Biggie were on good terms for a while. He noted there was a point where Tupac considered signing with Bad Boy Records, led by Sean "Puffy" Combs. Tupac wanted to be with his people, supporting black business and being part of a label that resonated with him. However, things changed over time.
Mopreme explained that Tupac's perception of Biggie changed. The fact that Biggie was signed to Puffy's label meant that Puffy had more control over Biggie's decisions. This created legitimate issues between Tupac and Biggie, leading to their highly publicized feud.
Mopreme also shed light on the relationship between Tupac and Stretch, highlighting its complexities. Stretch was with Tupac when he was shot at Quad Studios. However, Stretch went on tour with Biggie after the incident, causing tension within Tupac's circle. This conflicting allegiance seemed strange, especially considering Tupac's issues with Biggie then.
It is also revealed in the interview that Tupac believed Stretch had some involvement in the Quad Studios shooting. Tupac's sentiment was that Stretch already knew what was going to happen when guns were pulled out. This added to the already troubling situation and strained relationships between the artists.
