In a recent interview, Vlad revealed that every professional athlete he’s interviewed, including Dominique Wilkins, John Salley, and Dennis Rodman, has shared stories of being financially exploited. He cited especially young athletes, due to their sudden wealth. Lavar Ball shared his displeasure with certain individuals trying to take advantage of his son, LaMelo, by creating brands under LaMelo's name but keeping ownership. He mentioned an instance where LaMelo was convinced to endorse a beverage instead of a more high-profile sports drink like Gatorade or Powerade. Lavar also referenced people creating a clothing brand under his son's name, while using LaMelo's money to fund it. However, he expressed satisfaction with Puma's collaboration with his son, believing they'll handle distributions better and ensure his son keeps track of his earnings, preventing potential financial misuse.
