Joaquin "Jack" described being a Cuban immigrant in New York as a child and shared the hardships and barriers he faced while transitioning into American culture. Faced with stark cultural and social changes, including differences in language and food, Jack had to navigate through these difficulties. Despite these challenges, Jack was active in sports, particularly football, which he discovered in high school. Although initially unfamiliar with the sport, he committed to it, securing a scholarship for college. Even though Jack wasn't an extraordinary student in high school, he grew an interest in law enforcement during his senior year. His bilingual abilities in English and Spanish were instrumental during his application with the FBI. Having successfully passed the citizenship test and overcoming initial challenges, Jack became the second Cuban-born FBI agent, emphasizing resilience and adaptability as key aspects of his journey.
