Producer Bangladesh, known for his hand in crafting hits like Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” recently claimed that it took him a long time—17 years, to get paid for helping to create “Bossy,” one of the singer-turned-chef’s biggest songs.

While speaking to the folks at BagFuel, the producer spoke on the issues he faced creating the song, calling the process with the singer “difficult.”

Bangladesh then spoke about the royalty situation for the song, claiming that the singer kept pushing to get a bigger cut of the song even though she offered minimal input. “How the record was created, I did the whole beat, so that’s already 50 percent,” said the producer. He continued explaining, “Then Sean Garrett wrote the hook. Jasper and another dude wrote the verses, but she kind of like quarterbacked it. I think the label got Too $hort on it, so the numbers was adding up more than 100 because she was taking a lot of it, and she ain’t do nothing.”

Bangladesh then focused on the singer, saying, “What you was asking for doesn’t justify the work you did. It was like you got four people on the writer’s side, and you trying to take 25 percent of the 50, and it’s like this n**** wrote the hook, this n**** wrote the verse, you asking for too much, and there wasn’t enough left for Too $hort.” Watch above.
