Last month, it was reported that Pras of The Fugees was seeking a new trial after being convicted. The member of the legendary rap group says his old lawyer—David Kenner, allegedly tanked his case by using experimental artificial intelligence to draft closing arguments in his case. The alleged move by Kenner resulted in Pras being convicted of 10 criminal counts, according to the rapper.
Now, Pras has addressed the possibility of getting a new trial in the conspiracy case. While speaking to Billboard backstage at the The Fugees Reunion Tour, Pras said, “I trust the process. Obviously, there’s been a little bit of progress, so we’ll see what happens.”
As of now, Pras is awaiting sentencing in the conspiracy case.
