In an interview with actress Nia Long, rapper Jeezy candidly admitted that despite attempts at therapy, his marriage with TV host Jeannie Mai was beyond repair. Expressing his sadness and disappointment, he acknowledged that he could only be responsible for himself and emphasized the need to take care of his own well-being. Jeezy, 46, spoke of his belief that God had set him on a different path, leading him to focus on self-love and self-care. He filed for divorce from Mai, 44, in September after two years of marriage.

The couple shares a 1-year-old daughter named Monaco, and Jeezy expressed his commitment to ensuring her love and stability. While the reasons for their split remain private, insiders suggested differences in family values and expectations led to their separation.

Despite the divorce, Jeezy and Mai are co-parenting their daughter and abiding by a pre-nuptial agreement. Mai has not publicly commented on the breakup. The couple tied the knot in March 2021 after three years of dating.
