Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmental lawyer and activist, recently shared his passions and motivations in an interview, revealing his love for nature as his primary catalyst. His early exposure to outdoor activities such as whitewater kayaking, fishing, and hunting instilled a deep sensitivity to nature that influenced his views on environmental violations as "a theft." He described pollution as the privatization of public assets like air, water, and wildlife which should be shared by all. In his legal career, Kennedy sought justice against polluters by supporting fishermen on the Hudson River and creating the organization Riverkeeper, which has since helped restore the river's ecosystem. He further highlighted that four out of every five toxic waste sites in America are located in predominantly Black neighborhoods, reinforcing his belief that companies often target vulnerable, low-income communities. Environmentalism aside, he was interviewed about his personal life, too, notably the death of Mary Kathleen Richardson, the mother of his children.
