ODB Honored With His Own Day in New York City

The legacy of Ol’ Dirty Bastard has impacted hip-hop culture, with the rapper’s music seemingly sparking a free-spirited wave of artists who reference the Wu-Tang Clan member’s raw talent and energy. Now, Russell “ODB” Jones has been honored with his own day in New York City. 

The announcement of ODB’s day came after the City Council passed a resolution that marked November 15 as ‘Ol Dirty Bastard Day,’ which honors “his legacy as co-founder of the Wu-Tang Clan and a legendary MC.” 

Thirty-nine members of the city council voted in favor of the resolution.
