Slim Thug recently went viral after saying Cassie waited too long to bring up claims of abuse and assault against Diddy in a lawsuit. Since then, Slim Thug took to Instagram Live and ultimately apologized for his comments.
The rapper started by saying, “She got her bag, so everything was good, but I’m just saying that it didn’t sound like no abuser-victim to me. It sounds like ‘I needed that bag’ and she got it and everything good now, she fixed, and everybody happy now right?”
Fans on Instagram Live started to call out Thug, which caused him to apologize. “That was my personal opinion. I’m sorry we don’t agree on everything,” said the rapper. Slim Thug added, “I didn’t even know Cassie was Black… I just give y’all opinion, end of the day if I say something wrong correct me, tell me, I ain’t that small-minded.” Watch above.

Recently, Cassie launched a lawsuit against Diddy that accused him of human trafficking and physical abuse. The suit was swiftly settled for an undisclosed amount and found both parties making statements on the matter. Now, Slim Thug has given his take on the situation, saying he doesn’t think Cassie should have waited so long to bring up her claims against the producer and mogul.
Slim Thug noted he isn’t in support of people coming after their alleged abusers years later. Along with referencing Cassie and Diddy’s situation, Slim Thug referenced Bill Cosby. From there, Slim Thug gives his thoughts on why Cassie brought forth the suit now, saying he thinks Cassie’s move was about getting money out of Diddy because her current situation is different now that she isn’t with him.
