--------

Legendary boxer Evander Holyfield opened up about his 1990 bout against Buster Douglas. Holyfield shared that he was not surprised by Douglas's heavyweight during the weigh-in, acknowledging that he had seen Douglas fight before and that the excess weight was linked to emotional distress from his mother's passing. He also refuted suggestions that he underestimated Douglas due to his physical state. However, Holyfield did dominate the match, winning the title of undefeated, Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world. Meanwhile, Douglas's life took a turn following the loss. He fell into deep depression, struggled with weight gain, and then suffered a diabetic coma. Holyfield, who hasn't spoken to Douglas since the match, framed this as a matter of personal choice and emphasized the importance of doing one's best in boxing and in life.
