Part 1: Vlad Tells Special Ed He's the 1st Rapper He Ever Interviewed in His Life
--------
Special Ed revealed his struggles with being caught in "label limbo", unable to release songs due to a legal bind with his music label which resulted in a significant gap between his second and third albums. He expressed his desire to move to Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen, but they were unable to assist due to the ironclad nature of his contract. Eventually, around 1994, he collaborated with Buckshot and Masta Ace on the Crooklyn Dodgers project, produced by Q-Tip, in which several Brooklyn-born celebrities made cameos in the music video, notably Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan. Special Ed also discussed his disappointment at Nike's refusal to endorse musicians, a policy that has since changed. The rapper also recalled his collaborations with Biggie Smalls.
