Part 1: Arthur J. Williams on His Mom's Friend Teaching Him How to Counterfeit at 15

--------

In this clip, Arthur J. Williams Jr. recounts his journey from a Chicago neighborhood filled with mob influence due to the presence of Italian, Irish, and Asian organized crime figures, to his current success in the art world. At the young age of 16, he began to learn skills that would impact the rest of his life while apprenticing under a master printer. Williams picked up subtle nuances of life in addition to his trade skills, from observing men involved in the underworld around him. The most influential crime figure on him, he admits, was Jerry Scalise, from whom he learned not only ideological ways of thinking but also decorum in one’s approach to life and business transactions.
