According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, "Trenches News" YouTube creator Martell Wiley was paid $25,000 for cooperating in FBG Duck's murder case. The payments were reportedly split over roughly 15 installments.

FBI Special Agent Kevin Doyle commented on the arrangement: "He would provide background information. He reviewed surveillance footage [and] reviewed social media postings."

Wiley addressed the situation after it was revealed that he would have to testify in the trial. He stated in a video on his channel, "They subpoenaed me to court. I’ve gotta come here and tell them, man. It ain’t no more discrepancies. I’m here. Long live [FBG Duck, aka] Carlton."

Defense attorneys also revealed Wiley had been used twice as an informant more than a decade ago while he was living in Chicago's O Block. Special Agent Doyle clarified that Wiley ran with Duck’s crew and the Gangster Disciples.
