Recently, it was revealed that Derek Chauvin, the former police officer convicted for the murder of George Floyd, was stabbed by a fellow inmate with an improvised knife in the prison's library last month. Since then, the inmate has been charged with attempted murder.
According to reports, 52-year-old John Turscak told FBI agents that he attacked Chauvin as a symbolic connection to the Black Lives Matter movement. He claimed to have thought about attacking Chauvin for a month before carrying out the assault on Black Friday. It was noted that Chauvin was taken out of the hospital and put back in an Arizona prison.
This shocking revelation sheds light on the intense emotions and tensions surrounding the case of George Floyd and the broader issue of police brutality against Black individuals.
