Stand-up comedian Carlos Mencia sat down for his first interview with VladTV, where he spoke about his long-standing career, his upbringing, and his cultural background. Born in Honduras, Mencia grew up in East L.A., raised predominantly by his aunt, who was from Mexico, giving him a cultural blend of Honduras, Mexico, and East L.A. As a child, Mencia was free-spirited, spent a lot of time outdoors, and was influential among his friends due to his responsible nature. Despite having a large number of siblings (11 sisters and six brothers), Mencia points out that his family is a mix of full siblings and half-siblings and that it's easier for comedy purposes to simply state the total number. His comedic style has evolved over the years as he dedicated himself to embodying his diverse cultural experiences in his art. To hear more, hit the full interview above.
