Pete Rose talked about being the last player-manager in Major League Baseball, stating it would be impossible today due to the huge daily demands of managing the team and the media responsibilities. Rose further addressed the claim that he corked bats in 1985 by stating he would make more outs if he did so, and that the claim is unsubstantiated since no one ever caught him using a corked bat during games. He also said that no one aside from himself and a friend had access to his game-used bats. Reflecting on his career, the 'Hit King’ asserted that it is unlikely that anyone will beat his hitting record due to the contemporary demands of the game.
