Previously, Metro Boomin made headlines after he commented on Drake and 21 Savage’s ‘Her Loss’ winning rap album of the year over his ‘Heroes and Villains’ album. The commentary from the producer led to Drake unfollowing him on Instagram. However, that hasn’t stopped the producer from pushing forward and receiving accolades, as he was recently given the key to St. Louis, Missouri.
The producer reportedly received the key to the city, along with two proclamations. St. Louis’ mayor—Tishaura Jones, presented the honors to the producer while his family watched.
Metro Boomin has been given the key to the city, and multiple proclamations due to the work he’s done with single mothers in the area via his “Single Moms Are Superheroes” campaign, which was renamed to ‘Leslie Joanne Single Mothers and Caregivers Appreciation Day’ in honor of his late mother. Along with that, December 14 was declared “Leland Metro Boomin Wayne Day” in St. Louis. Watch his speech above.
