NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar updated fans after it was reported that he fell and broke his hip over the weekend.
Kareem shared photos of him in a hospital bed on his Substack page and the iconic athlete sported a big smile. He revealed that he fell while he was on his way to deliver a speech at The Manhattan Transfer's concert on Friday at Disney Hall in Los Angeles.
Kareem stated, "I'd like to say I fell while trying to save a child from plunging over a balcony, but I just tripped." He added, "Hard for me to accept that a once world-class athlete just stumbled. But age is the great equalizer and humbles us all."
Kareem went on to thank the first-responders that took him to the hospital, and he added, "All my best to you from my hospital bed. Me and my new hip will be dancing to [The Manhattan Transfer's] tunes again."Well, gently swaying."
