Derica Wiggins, a woman from Memphis, Tennessee, has been arrested in connection with an arson incident involving her ex-boyfriend. Police allege that Wiggins intentionally set her ex-boyfriend's bed on fire while he, his new girlfriend, and their baby were sleeping. The incident occurred in March, but Wiggins was recently booked into the Shelby County Jail. She is reportedly 19 years old, according to a local outlet, and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
The female victim recounted hearing a lighter outside the bedroom and later discovered the comforter on fire. The boyfriend extinguished the fire, and Ring surveillance video reportedly captured Wiggins entering and exiting the house. Wiggins faces charges of aggravated assault, arson, reckless burning, and setting fire to personal property. She is scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the fire caused smoke damage to the bedroom.
