Popular Milwaukee rappers Joevon "Jigg" Wilder and Marcell "Celly Cell" Hendrix were identified as the men killed in a shooting on Monday (December 18). The incident was reported on the 2900 block of North 20th Street at 12:35 am. So far, no arrests have been made.
Jigg was credited with bringing attention to Milwaukee's rap scene, and he was best known for 2017’s "No Hook," which amassed 2.3 million views on YouTube. Celly Cell was a rising rapper in the area, with over 5,000 Instagram followers.
Peggy Wright, Jigg's grandmother, spoke to the Journal Sentinel about his passing, "He was a loving and caring person. He was a good father. He had a good personality. He was a character. He was laid back and chill and would just write songs."
