Music mogul and rapper Sean "DIddy" Combs has recently been hit with multiple lawsuits alleging sexual assault and abuse. These allegations have been vehemently denied by Diddy. The first lawsuit came from singer Cassie Ventura, who accused Diddy of sexual abuse and sex trafficking during their decade-long relationship. Tiffany Red, a friend and witness to some disturbing incidents involving Cassie and Diddy, spoke exclusively to NBC about her time around the two stars.
Tiffany Red, a singer, songwriter, and activist, had been working with Cassie on an album when she first encountered Diddy. Red says she witnessed Diddy verbally abusing Cassie on multiple occasions, including an incident during Cassie's 29th birthday celebration in 2015. Diddy confronted Cassie, cussing her out and trapping her in a corner. Red also described waking up to screams and seeing Diddy emotionally singing to Cassie, creating a terrifying atmosphere.
It was only recently that Cassie disclosed the true extent of the abuse to Red. Tiffany says Cassie revealed that Diddy had coerced her into participating in what he called "freak offs" with sex workers hired by him. Red expressed disgust upon learning that the songs she had written for Diddy were used in these abusive acts.
Cassie filed a lawsuit detailing the physical abuse she endured, including instances where she was put in a hotel room for days to heal. However, no criminal investigation has been confirmed by the NYPD as of now. Diddy settled with Cassie in an undisclosed agreement. Tiffany Red believes that the settlement was a PR move and wishes to see Diddy held accountable and behind bars for his actions.
Despite the trauma she witnessed, Tiffany Red has turned her experience into activism. She started an organization called The 100 Centers, advocating for equal rights and fair treatment within the music industry. Speaking out about her experiences has helped her heal, and she wants to stand up for her friend Cassie and validate her claims. You can hear her full interview above.
