Authorities in the Dominican Republic conducted searches at two residences linked to Tampa Bay Rays star Wander Franco amid allegations of inappropriate relations with a minor. The Santo Domingo Prosecutor’s Office for Children and Adolescents searched both Franco's residence in Villa Real and his mother’s home in Baní. Neighbors reported that authorities left messages for Franco’s wife.
The investigation, initiated in late August, stems from claims against Franco involving relationships with underage individuals. MLB placed Franco on administrative leave in August, emphasizing that it was not a disciplinary action under the league's policies. Franco denied the allegations in an August Instagram Live video, expressing frustration with false rumors.
