A Tulsa woman, Megan Statum, was arrested after police discovered a significant amount of drugs, cash, and guns inside a stolen U-Haul, as reported by the Sand Springs Police Department. Statum, 32, was allegedly selling drugs out of the stolen U-Haul. Officers detained five individuals near the vehicle, who claimed they were there to buy drugs from Statum. Upon searching the U-Haul, police found over 500 grams of meth, 230 grams of fentanyl powder, 350 fentanyl pills, four guns, and over $12,000 in cash. Additionally, Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, and a money counting machine were discovered.
The seizure included 230,000 milligrams of fentanyl, equivalent to 115,000 potentially lethal doses. Sand Springs police emphasized the significance of removing these deadly drugs from the streets. Statum faces multiple charges, including trafficking meth and fentanyl, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a firearm. Sand Springs Deputy Police Chief Todd Enzbrenner highlighted the community's need to be vigilant against the dangers of fentanyl, which can be lethal in small doses.
