During a recent interview, rapper Lil Rob talked about his song "Summer Nights," which reached number 36 on the Billboard 100 and number 13 on the rap charts. Lil Rob reflected on the success of the song, stating that almost nobody who picks up a microphone experiences that type of success. Sharing his experience of writing the song in one day, he stated that the success of "Summer Nights" was a life-changing moment. The single was responsible for much of his national recognition, which led to tours on the East Coast and shows across the country. However, despite his success in music, Lil Rob spoke about maintaining his regular job in shipping and receiving, due to the uncertainty of the music business, and revealed how he is guilty of squandering his earnings on frivolous things. Finally, he shared his mother's pride in his success and how his music effectively saved his life.
