Recently, Billboard released a list compiling the 25 greatest rap producers of all time. The list featured the likes of DJ Premier, Metro Boomin, J Dilla, RZA, The Neptunes, Dr. Dre, and more. However, a prominent producer’s name—The Alchemist, was not mentioned.
The Alchemist has been linked to influential acts in hip-hop like Mobb Deep, Freddie Gibbs, Jay-Z, Westside Gunn, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. Via X, Alchemist reacted to the snub, reposting the link to the list, jokingly saying, “but my mommy said i’m the best!!! lol 🙏🏼.”
From there, Alchemist delivered another post speaking on the snub. “Just keep going crazy. Ignore the scoreboard. By the time they do the math you’ll be so up that it won’t even matter,” said the producer.
