Former ‘American Idol’ judge Paula Abdul filed a lawsuit against ‘Idol’ executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

According to Abdul, Lythgoe allegedly assaulted the singer numerous times during the earlier seasons of ‘American Idol' as well as ‘So You Think You Can Dance?’ another show she was hosting. The singer pointed out one instance of assault, alleging she and Lythgoe were both in an elevator while looking over audiences for the ‘American Idol’ series.

Abdul claims the man “shoved her against a wall, groped her breasts and genitals, and shoved his tongue down her throat.” Along with that, Abdul alleges she saw Lythgoe sexually assault one of her assistants in 2015. It was noted that Abdul filed the lawsuit under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Accountability Act, which created a one-year window to file sexual assault lawsuits, which would typically be considered out of the statute of limitations.
