According to reports, USA Boxing is implementing a new “Transgender Policy,” allowing transgender women to fight in the female category for 2024.

Boxers under the age of 18 are still required to compete in the category that is the same as the gender they were born with. People above that age will be allowed to compete in whichever category they choose.

There are requirements for those who are looking to choose which category they fight in, which include completing gender reassignment, regular hormone testing, and declaring a new gender identity.

Female and male trans fighters are also required to undergo quarterly hormone testing and give USA Boxing documentation showing their hormone levels for four years after their surgery. Stay tuned for more updates.
