On New Year's Eve, Conor McGregor announced his return to the UFC in a short video that he posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the video, McGregor states, "Ladies and gentleman, a Happy New Year to you all. I would like to announce the return date for myself. The Notorious Conor McGregor. For the greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for International Fight Week on June 29th. The opponent, Michael Chandler. The weight, Mr Chandler. 185lb."
This will be a middleweight fight, which is a weight that neither he nor Chandler have fought out in their careers. McGregor is both a featherweight and lightweight champion, and he also holds a welterweight victory over Donald Cerrone.
