He called such individuals 'fakes' and stated that they resort to elaborate murder methods for minor reasons. Gravano emphasized that incidents of real underworld violence often involve the use of guns or knives and dismissed the idea of using lesser-known methods of killing as a 'fantasy.' He further stated that such sophisticated murder tactics are in the domain of government agencies like the CIA. Gravano said that he had never enjoyed violence and that he ultimately preferred an instantaneous, painless death for himself.
