Jonathan Majors sat down for a candid interview with "Good Morning America" that aired on Monday (January 8), where he opened up about being found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment last month.

Majors admitted that he was "shocked" by the guilty verdict, stating, "Shocked. I was absolutely shocked. And afraid. I’m standing there and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?'"

When asked about the injuries on his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, Majors stated, "I wish to God I knew. That would give clarity. That would give me some kind of peace about it." He added that he has "no question" that he didn't injure Jabbari.

During their trial, a recording of Majors telling Jabbari to be more like Coretta Scott King or Michelle Obama was played, and he explained the context. Majors stated, "It was me trying to give an analogy of what I am aspiring to be, these great men, Martin, President Obama, and trying to give reference point to that. One thing I also say is like I need her, and in that case Grace, to make the same sacrifices I am making."

Majors also spoke about being hopeful of a Hollywood return, "Yeah, I do. I pray I do. But it’s God’s plan, God’s timing."
