Recently, Taraji P. Henson teared up as she spoke about pay inequality as a Black actress. Shortly after, Henson was interviewed and spoke about her time on the set of ‘The Color Purple,’ recently released in theaters. The actress addressed issues she and her castmates faced, including receiving rental cars to drive themselves to set in Atlanta instead of having security or a car get them. Henson pointed out that people were being robbed in the city, and she didn’t want to risk her chances of facing that fate by driving a rental.

Now, ‘Color Purple’ producer Oprah Winfrey has reacted to Henson's comments. While on the 2024 Golden Globes Awards red carpet, Oprah said, “I heard I was trending yesterday because people are saying that I was not supporting Taraji. Taraji will tell you herself that I’ve been the greatest champion of this film, championing not only the behind-the-scenes production but also everything that everybody needed.”

Oprah then made it clear she and Henson have no issues. “Whenever I heard there was an issue or there was a problem, there’s was a problem with the cars or there a problem with the food I would step in and do whatever I could to make it right,” said Winfrey while speaking to Entertainment Tonight. Winfrey concluded by saying, “I believe that she would even vouch for that and say that it’s true.” before saying, “There’s no validity to there being a thing between Taraji and I.”
