Draymond Green’s indefinite suspension from the NBA was recently lifted after he underwent counseling and worked with the NBA on requirements to come back. However, Green revealed that he was very close to retiring from the league but was talked out of it by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
While on his ‘Draymond Green Show,’ the Warriors star player said, “I told him, 'Adam, this is too much for me. This is too much. It's all becoming too much for me -- and I'm going to retire.'”
Green noted that Silver spoke with him and wouldn’t allow him to make a “rash decision” to walk away from the NBA. As a result of the conversation, Draymond said he thinks it showed Silver is more committed to players' well-being than focusing on stressing his power through punishment. Green noted he appreciated the discussion with Silver.
After being reinstated in the NBA, Green was seen sitting on the Warriors’ bench during a recent game. Watch above.
