Katt Williams stirred up Hollywood after his interview with Shannon Sharpe, as he called out a long list of celebrities, including Cedric The Entertainer, Rickey Smiley, Kevin Hart, and Steve Harvey.

However, Katt also showed love to some celebrities, including the late legendary comedian, Bernie Mac. During the interview, Katt stated that he was asked to join The Original Kings of Comedy after Bernie's passing, but he turned it down.

Katt explained, "You think I’mma let you s*** on Bernie and then come get me? I’m the next king? F*** you. Why? ’Cause the whole time Bernie was here, you was acting like you was funnier than him. The reason you was supposed to go last is ‘cause it was your tour. Tell the truth. It was Steve’s tour… But you couldn’t do it ‘cause you can’t beat the best."

This led to Bernie's daughter, Ja’Niece McCullough, speaking out via her Instagram page, where she showed Katt love for protecting her father's name. McCullough stated, "“I don’t know Katt Williams; [I] never met him. That’s one person I never did get to meet when my dad was alive, but from everything I’ve ever heard my dad, you know, say, he’s always seemed like a stand-up dude."

She added, "I felt like it was genuine. There are some people who have given my dad his flowers now that he’s dead that I’m looking at like, ‘Now, you know doggone well you wasn’t doing that when he was alive.’ And that’s not just famous people, just people all across the board."

McCollough then stated that she'd love to have a sit-down with Katt, as she started her own podcast, " “Bernie’s Daughter Podcast," where she's sat with some of Bernie's co-stars and colleagues. You can hear more above.
