During a panel discussion on Saturday (Jan. 6), The Book Of Clarence writer-director Jeymes Samuel and Jay-Z sat down alongside Elliott Wilson to speak about the film and soundtrack.
Samuel spoke to the audience about the soundtrack being amazing, and he added that Jay-Z has a new song that is "nine minute and 33 seconds." He then added, "It’s so deep. We got D’Angelo and JAY-Z on the same track. Like 9 minutes and 32 seconds of absolute soulful, biblical bliss."
This comes after Jay-Z spoke to Gayle King about what would bring him out of his musical hiatus, stating, "I don’t wanna just make a bunch of tunes. That’s not gonna serve me, and it won’t feed me, first of all… I have to be saying something important. It has to mean something, you know? It has to mean something to a larger society."
