Boxing fans were left puzzled over the weekend as Ryan Garcia announced his impending divorce just hours after sharing the news of the birth of his first son.

On Friday, Garcia took to Instagram to celebrate the arrival of his son Henry Leo, posting a photo of the newborn with a caption expressing his gratitude and joy. However, less than two hours later, the former WBC lightweight champion returned to Instagram to reveal that he and his wife Andrea Celina are ending their four-year marriage.

In his announcement, Garcia acknowledged the difficulty of the decision and emphasized that their relationship as co-parents remains their top priority. He praised Celina as an incredible partner and an extraordinary mother to their two children. The divorce news comes less than three years after their marriage and follows the birth of their first child, a daughter named Rylie, in 2020.
