Kodak Black is reportedly facing amended charges in the current drug case. Prosecutors on the case are now charging the rapper with one count of Oxycodone possession instead of cocaine possession.
Along with that, the rapper was charged with one count of fabricating physical evidence. Police previously claimed they saw Kodak Black trying to hide a white powder-like substance in his mouth before they walked up on him. The substance he stuffed in his mouth tested positive for cocaine, which led to his arrest. However, Kodak was never charged for cocaine.
Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, hopped on Instagram and addressed what officers and the Broward State Attorney’s Office had previously said. “This was not cocaine, and the officer was lying about his observations. We finally got the lab report… its oxycodone that Kodak had a prescription for and not an illegal substance,” said Cohen.
The lawyer then went in, saying: “Knowing that the officer substantially misrepresented his observations, the Broward State Atty Office still filed the charged. Unbelievable and it will not be tolerated. This level of abuse of power by the arresting officer is disgusting. We will be seeking a new bond hearing and addressing these unethical practices by the police department.”
