The first trailer for "Shirley," Netflix's biopic about Shirley Chisholm, the first Black Congresswoman, went viral after it premiered on Tuesday (January 9).
The new film will chronicle Chisholm's groundbreaking run for president of the United States in 1972 after making history as the first Black woman elected to the US Congress in 1968. "Shirley" also stars Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christina Jackson, Michael Cherrie, Dorian Crossmond Missick, Amirah Vann, W. Earl Brown, Brad James, André Holland and Terrence Howard.
The movie is set to hit Netflix on March 22, 2024. You can watch the trailer above.
