In Oakland's Fruitvale neighborhood, two armed men attempted to rob MSM Jewelry, but their plans were foiled when a courageous worker opened fire on them. The incident occurred around 10 AM, with the worker firing shots in self-defense after the armed intruders threatened him. The shootout lasted about 20 seconds, resulting in the suspects fleeing the scene. The worker, who remains anonymous, explained seeing the suspects approach the store and immediately drew his nine-millimeter handgun. The suspects retaliated with around 20 shots, using illegal large-capacity magazines.
Despite the intense exchange, the worker's actions were deemed appropriate by Oakland police, who took his guns for investigation purposes. The jewelry store now bears bullet holes, and the worker expressed a determination to defend the store if faced with another robbery attempt. Oakland police encourage anyone with information about the suspects to come forward.
