On Thursday (January 11), Young Thug and his five codefendants appeared in court for the YSL RICO trial, which closed with the judge announcing that another week-long recess would occur next week.
Elsewhere, prosecution witness Trontavious "Tick" Stephens continued with his sixth day of testimony, where he was cross-examined by Young Thug's attorney, Brian Steel. At the start of his examination, Steel requested that Rich Gang's "Lifestyle" be played in the courtroom, and he followed by questioning Stephens about Birman and the Rich Gang crew.
Steel also brought up Lil Wayne and emphasized that he has been rapping since he was a child, proving that he's solely an entertainer, like Young Thug. Steel also pointed out Serena Williams Crip walking and LeBron James appearing to do a gang-affiliated handshake to prove his point about entertainers not being gang members.
Following the cross-examination, Lead prosecutor Adriane Love told Judge Ural Glanville that she wants Young Thug to take the stand, as she stated, "If Mr. Williams wants to put in words spoken by Mr. Williams, Mr. Williams will have to take the stand." Brian Steel objected to the request, but Judge Glanville said he would consider it.
