Recently, Ice Cube received a Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame award for his work with The Big 3, as well as for his community work.
Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame CEO John Doleva said the rapper’s “unquestionable passion for the game and his desire to see it utilized as a catalyst for positive impact on communities are unwavering. His sphere of influence in both the entertainment industry and in the professional sports arena brings remarkable authenticity and value to this award.”
The rapper, actor, and Big 3 head honcho spoke about getting the Impact Award, named after him. While speaking to HipHopDX, Cube said the award was “big time” for him. Along with that, he noted he was hype to be the first recipient of the award, because it’s “given to people who make a positive impact using basketball.” Watch above.
