Robert Griffin III and his former Washington coach, Jay Gruden, have been engaged in a heated back-and-forth on social media for days.

It started after Gruden commented on the Eagles playing the Buccaneers in the playoffs, writing on X, "If I ever put a QB through what Philly is putting Jalen [Hurts] through, I apologize." This led Griffin to respond, writing, "Say WHATTTT?"

Gruden shot, back, writing, "U weren’t prepared, Robert?" Griffin quickly shot back, "You told me you didn’t know how to coach a QB who could throw and run like me, so looks like you weren’t prepared Jay."

Gruden then wrote, "You are right. We didn’t have a good enough staff. Sorry. Hope all is well with ya."

Things didn't stop there, as Griffin shared a story about Gruden allegedly throwing him under the bus by telling Griffin to speak to the media and encourage his teammates to play better. When the plan blew up in Griffin's face, he says Gruden went into the team meeting room and "burned me in front of my teammates."

This led to Gruden responding, telling Griffin, "You really wanna play this game?"

Griffin then told Gruden, "I’m not playing any games, I’m retired. You have a free invite to come on the show and discuss. Face to face. I know where all your bodies are buried Jay. Don’t play with me."

To no one's surprise, things escalated, with Gruden telling Griffin, "You weren’t good enough. Kirk [Cousins] was better. Cleveland didn’t want you. Baltimore [didn’t] either. Quit blaming me." Gruden has since deleted the tweet.
