The individual accused of orchestrating the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur has chosen to replace his public defenders with private attorney Carl Arnold. Duane “Keefe D” Davis, 60, was arrested by Las Vegas Metro police in September on a murder charge. His bail was set at $750,000, with public defenders asserting that he posed no danger to the community. Arnold, Davis' new attorney, emphasized the historic significance of the upcoming trial.

Davis, who claimed involvement in the 1996 shooting of Shakur, has argued that his statements were for entertainment purposes, and Arnold emphasized the need for corroborating evidence for a conviction. Prosecutors allege Davis threatened witnesses from jail, but his attorneys deny the accusations. A status check in the case is scheduled for Feb. 20.
