Reports surfaced noting Dexter Scott King, the youngest son of Martin Luther King Jr., passed away at the age of 62 after dealing with cancer.
The news was announced by The King Center, who noted he was dealing with prostate cancer. According to the wife of King—Leah Weber King, Dexter “transitioned peacefully in his sleep at home with me in Malibu.”
Dexter King is the second child of MLK Jr. to pass away since his assassination in 1968. Bernice King and Martin Luther King III are Dexter King's remaining siblings.
