During a silver jubilee celebration for Vistex in Hyderabad, India, CEO Sanjay Shah and company president Raju Datla attempted a special aerial entrance in a small iron cage meant to be lowered in front of 700 employees. The cage wobbled and fell 15 feet when the chain broke, causing both men to land on the stage.
Shah died in the hospital, while Datla sustained a severe head injury and is in critical condition. Allegations were made that the event organizers failed to provide safety measures at the venue, including the lack of an ambulance facility. Shah, who founded Vistex in 1999, had clients like Coca-Cola and GM.
