Rapper and former Bad Boy Records artist G-Dep has recently been granted clemency after serving roughly ten years in prison, according to a recent interview between Vlad and Tony Yayo. According to Vlad, before his record deal, he had engaged in a shooting incident during a robbery. Initially believing the victim survived, G-Dep confessed to the shooting years later, troubled by feelings of guilt and the belief that his troubles were karma. Upon confessing to the cops, it was revealed the victim had died, hence the prison sentence for murder. Despite the potential for a different outcome, Tony Yayo suggests that this journey was G-Dep's calling. The two hope the rapper can rebuild his life upon release and commend his past hit, "Take This Money," with Yayo making subtle mention of late rapper Black Rob.
